6 Continents. 44 Countries. A Lifetime of Stories.

My travel story started with a single solo flight and a lot of “what am I doing?” thoughts. Since then I have travelled 44 countries across 6 continents and never let the media or people’s comments of a place not being safe stop me. Where Katie Goes is a travel blog for women ready to leave those what ifs behind, find honest travel advice and finally book that flight.

Salt Water & Dragon Sunsets: Our 4 Day Journey to Komodo

There is no better way to reach Komodo than by boat. Sailing from Lombok to Labuan Bajo took us through Indonesia’s most beautiful landscapes. From the famous Pink Beach (yes, it really is pink!) to hiking the insta famous Padar Island, every stop felt like a dream. It is four days of ocean swims, sunrise hikes and meeting people from all over the world. Here is exactly what it is like to sail the Flores Sea.

7 Best Things to do in Salento: Colombia’s Most Colourful Escape

If you are looking for the heart of Colombia’s coffee region, you will find it in the brightly painted streets of Salento. From hiking among the world’s tallest palm trees in the Cocora Valley to the hilarious chaos of playing Tejo (yes, it involves explosions and beer!). Whether you are a coffee lover, a hiker or just here for the colorful Calle Real photos, here are the 7 things you absolutely cannot miss.

Hi! I’m Katie!

Welcome to Where Katie Goes, a travel blog for women (and any man who might find me funny) ready to see the world. My story started in 2017 with a one way ticket and a plan to travel solo for six months. 8 years and 44 countries later, I am still going (sorry mum!).

While I usually travel with my fiancé these days I am the one behind the maps, the bookings and the itineraries. I might have started as a go with the flow backpacker but now I travel with intensive research so I never miss a thing and I can then tell you all what is actually worth it.

I am here to share honest travel advice, Instagram worthy photography and the ‘wish I knew’ secrets I have picked up while planning travel. Whether you are looking for a complete travel guide or just tips for your next big holiday, I hope these stories inspire you to finally book that flight and discover somewhere new.
