As you’re all probably well aware by now (because I don’t stop complaining about it)… I’m bored. Actually, this week wasn’t so bad. I’ve completely taken on the Thai ‘Mai Ben Rai’ (it means no worries, hakuna matata basically) mantra and have been much more chilled, relaxed and enjoying living in the moment and appreciating where I am in my life right now.
This weekend only fueled my happiness as Joe, Hollie, John and I set off on a weekend adventure to Kanchanaburi. Kanchanaburi is around 2 hours west of Bangkok; we took the train there, the scenery and village stations were really beautiful and much more interesting than the concrete highway you’d see on the bus. If felt surreal to be sleeping in a bunk bed in a dorm room again, yet strangely homely despite never visiting Kanchan before.
We arrived at our hostel at around 11am and we left at 4pm the following day; needless to say, I am absolutely exhausted from our whirlwind trip. We spent our time; whizzing around on scooters, visiting an insane dragon temple- the entrance is inside its mouth, walking along the death railway (a railway built by thousands of British POW’s in WWII), partying for Megan’s birthday, eating delicious food at a great veggie cafe, exploring the countryside, finding a giant (fat) tree, stumbling across more incredible temples, maaaany coffee breaks, enjoying massages and facials, getting trapped by wild cows on the road and FINALLY taking a sleep mini-bus back to Bangkok. Aren’t you tired just reading that?!
I feel like I’ve done nothing and everything this weekend it’s very bizarre. The Sun was shining, I spent 2 amazing days with the best people in Thailand and I got to experience backpacking again (even if it was just for one night) it really was the perfect way to spend a weekend.
Now I feel like I need to sleep for a week; please give me a weekend to recover from this one, I’m actually dead! Roll on next weekend when I get to see Britney LIVE in Bangkok! I can hardly contain my excitement.
Oh! How could I forget? I decided to try my hand at vlogging. My first attempt was a while ago in Indonesia (click here if you missed it!) and I wanted another go. I hope you enjoy watching this super cool video as much as I did making it…and living it! Peace!
Until next time…
Much love from wherever I am..
