FRIYAAAAY! I realise that it’s not Friday right now, it is in fact Sunday which is rather depressing as there’s nothing worse than a Monday morning. I’ve never been a Friday feelin’ kind of girl, but after 6 months of zero responsibility, waking up at whatever time I like to do whatever I want all day and then spend 2 weeks in a classroom- let’s just say I was pretty excited to my first full 2 day weekend off at TEFL Heaven. Don’t get me wrong, I’m loving my course, but it can be a little full on sometimes and I was in dire need for a break.
I always try to squeeze every last bit of weekend fun I can from the best 2 days of the week- soon it will be Monday and I ALWAYS wind up regretting lounging around in bed watching Disney films (even though sometimes this is the ULTIMATE weekend plan). This weekend was pretty much the dream; I snorkelled, I island hopped, I sunbathed on a desert island, I laughed until my belly ached, I ate great food, sang VERY loudly to the Spice Girls, drank fruit smoothies, I wrote messages in the sand, got a mani-pedi, I got a facial AND a massage. Could a weekend actually get much better than that…because I really don’t think it can. The cherry on the cake came a few of hours ago when I registered to get pre-sale tickets to see Britney Spears live in Bangkok- my childhood dream is literally about to come true!
Now I have that Sunday night feeling…and I’ve got to tell you, I’m not looking forward to waking up at 7am tomorrow. The silver lining is that this week we get to go to an English Summer Camp for a few days and teach Cambodian refugees which will (fingers crossed) be such a rewarding experience as well as acting as a huge learning curve for me. I can’t wait to put everything we’ve learnt so far into practice but I’m a little scared about going alone in front of real, live children. I’m exhausted just thinking about it…wish me luck!
Lot’s of love from wherever I am.
